BUAA-Xingye Joint Laboratory for Haptic Perception and Innovation Launched

On January 20, 2026, the launch ceremony and kickoff meeting of the BUAA-Xingye Joint Laboratory for Haptic Perception and Innovation was held at Beihang University.

A joint platform for haptic perception and industrial innovation

The joint laboratory is co-established by Beihang University and Xingye Leather Technology Co., Ltd. It focuses on haptic sensing, tactile feature algorithms, quantitative evaluation of leather tactile properties, flexible electronic leather sensing and immersive high-resolution VR tactile devices.

Launch ceremony and appointment letters

University, government and company representatives attended the meeting. Vice President Yi Deng of Beihang University and Vice Mayor Jinfu Chen jointly unveiled the laboratory. Appointment letters were presented to the laboratory director, executive director and deputy directors.

Future collaboration

The laboratory will build a long-term university-industry collaboration mechanism, develop core technologies and products with independent intellectual property, and accelerate the transformation of research outcomes into productive applications.
